Now, we’ve added fresh visual style to our much-respected Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric, adding a bold black color treatment for the top to give the 814ce even more aesthetic appeal. Tonally, the combination of solid Indian rosewood back and sides with a Sitka spruce top delivers a versatile combination of crisp trebles, rich lows and a slightly scooped midrange that leaves ample room for accompanying sounds. Our revolutionary V-Class bracing yields a boost to volume and sustain while improving harmony between notes all the way up the neck, adding to the 814ce’s heritage as an excellent option for recording applications. Like its standard-edition sibling, this version includes a radius-style rosewood armrest for enhanced playing comfort. Along with the blacktop treatment, this special edition model is appointed with Hard Rock maple body binding, West African Crelicam Ebony fretboard binding to complement a smoky ebony fretboard, black and maple purfling with rosewood top edge trim, a single-ring rosette in green abalone with a bound soundhole, smoked nickel tuning machines, a rosewood pickguard, ebony bridge pins with green abalone dots, Element fretboard inlays in mother-of-pearl, and a full-body gloss finish.
