Wayne and Robyn Rogers, active folk musicians in the 1970s, opened Strings N' Things Music Center in 1978. They founded Gold Tone Banjos in Titusville, Florida, in 1993. Wayne designed and sold the TB-100 Travel Banjo, which became popular after a positive review in the Banjo Newsletter. As the company grew, Wayne's innovations and vintage designs led to high demand for Gold Tone's affordable, high-quality instruments. Gold Tone now offers a wide range of stringed instruments, including various types of banjos, mandolins, and resonator guitars.
The Paul Beard Signature features a laminated mahogany body and top, and a mahogany neck, all finished in a beautiful tobacco sunburst. The fingerboard features simple dot inlays and, like the body, cream-colored binding. The resonator features the famous Paul Beard "open" soundwell, resonator cone, and spider bridge. This combination produces the characteristic warm tone perfect for country blues and fingerstyle solos.
